[Trans] Kame Camera - Vol.50 Promise
Half done!
I'm curious, how many of you share the same Kame's view on marriage? :)
This time I agree with his view of "timing matching naturally" :)
These Maquia are all 2015 interviews. I wrote all numbers and release date on top of all issues.
**please keep in mind that each Maquia's interview was probably made 1 to 2 months before its release date**
thanks to
scorch66 who, as always, read them and kindly fixed my non-native English :)

Vol. 50 約束 Promise
「Instead of fullfilling a momentary promise, I think what's important is continuing to retain your manliness afterwards.」

Late night before Tokyo Dome LIVE: when we filmed the video showed during the concert, we took this memorial picture in front of the board with our name (laughs) Normally we don't have many chances to go outside the venue, it was refreshing!
We held a live in Tokyo Dome after a long time. Like last year, the feelings of wanting to do something as four, something that only KAT-TUN can do, were strong; but more than that, this time we wanted to fix our gaze once again on KAT-TUN's cornerstone, the hyphens, and the existence of the fans who support us. What do I, KAT-TUN's Kamenashi Kazuya, exist for? Of course it's for my sake and the members' sake too, but the first reason is for hyphens' sake. They come to our concerts, they wait with impatience for our new releases. I can give my best because they're there. This time it was an important goal, the 30th Tokyo Dome concert, so we added some nostalgic songs and thought of an unexpected direction. I created it with the same feeling of giving a surprise present to a lover, and being able to meet the hyphens up close I thought, “I want to create such an occasion for the 10th anniversary too”. No, I promise I'm going to create it for sure.
I can't absolutely promise “I'll call you every day”
Actually I rarely make promises. For example, if it's someone I have to meet due to work, I make an appointment and meet them. But with family, girlfriend or friends I don't make promises. I always want to see them without making promises, and I think they're the ones who can meet up. I talk enthusiastically with close people, “I want to go together to Okinawa this summer!”, but when summer comes I totally forget it (laughs) The other party probably thinks, “You promised, didn't you?”, but for me it's not a promise but a hope (laughs) My everyday is too dense, I already have forgotten what I did yesterday. I think, “remind me when summer comes”.
I don't want to make promises I can't fullfill, so I don't make promises as much as I can. If I was asked by a girl “promise me you'll call me every evening”, I'd be sincere and say “I'll try my best but I can't promise it.” This is why I'm not popular with girls (laughs) But I do end up saying “I'll like you forever” (laughs) This isn't a promise either, it's just my real thoughts “in this moment” coming to surface. Of course, for me, love relationship = marriage. I don't date people who can't think of getting married, so I'm not lying either. But I don't know the future and I think that getting married is something you do when the timing of both naturally matches, after the love builds up while thinking of wanting to get married. Is it different for girls? Of course I understand that girls from my generation are around 30 years old and conscious of weddings already, but saying “I won't date someone who can't promise to get married” is something I still don't really get (laughs) I mean, marriage isn't the goal. Even if you get married because it's a promise, but each other's feelings and situations aren't ready yet, will it go smoothly after that? It might happen that once you fullfill the promise, love will cool down due to the fullfillment, you know? (laughs)
Maybe for me “promise” has a different weight. It's something perpetual, essential. For example I always wish “I want to buy a house for my family”, but it won't end once I buy it. I want to continue giving my best after that too, in order to help them continue to live happily. I think this kind of manliness is way more important. It's the same towards fans too. I can't promise what I'll be doing 10 years from now. Maybe I'll make them have a lot of fun, from time to time I'll disappoint them. Yet, I'll never ever make them regret coming to like me (laughs) This is my only promise.
Marriage isn't something you do because of you’re tied up by a promise. It's something you do when the love grows, while thinking “I want to”, when each one's timing matches.
Kame’s fixed point of observation
In this time's Tokyo Dome show the four members' personalities stood out more than last year's tour, and made a gorgeous stage. After expressing this impression to him, he says “This time too, we thought of the direction while keeping in mind the number “4”. We wanted to create a different angle, as if we were advancing in four different venues at the same time, not only Tokyo Dome. For the digital corner I took a hint from one scene in a movie I like and created a remix overlapping the sound of many songs!” It looks like his fervent feelings towards the stage direction didn't stop even after the show ended.
