[Trans] DUET 2010.08 - KAT-TUN

It took me ages to find the free time to check the translation and post it! And when I had time, I stalked LJ to find SC performance and/or songs XD Since I'm like Kame, that easily goes tension up, when I'm in this mood I start translating like hell XD And quoting Koki and his famous ending motto in the making of,  "since I like reading your comments, and thoughts on the interview, I will continue translating" XD

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] leia22  that corrected my English mistakes :*

DUET 1008 – Then, today under what kind of sky…

Job & Private - World topics x 75

The last album “No MORE PAIN” is selling now! After finishing with a great success the Arena tour all around the country, next step is Tokyo Dome, Korea, Osaka Kyosera Dome, Taiwan… KAT-TUN will face the “World big tour”. This month we have asked them questions concerning the “World”!

KAME

Q1: What is your favourite country in the world?
Japan. Because it’s the country I’ve experienced most. The food is good, there are the four seasons. It’s tasty and beautiful, so I like it.

Q2: The 3 best countries you want to see?
1st place: England. I’m charmed by it ever since. 2nd place: Africa. 3rd place: Spain. I want to try to go to Ibiza.

Q3: What’s your favourite dish in the world?
It must be white rice with egg. Wherever I go, wherever I eat, if I eat this, I become calmer.

Q4: What is the foreign dish you are able to cook?
I can cook more or less a “XX-style” dish. For example, an Italian-style risotto with porcini, or a Thai tom yum goong-like soup.

Q5: The first foreign country you went to?
I guess it was Guam, for work. I was shocked by the blue of the sky and the sea. My trips until that one were as far as Yamanashi Prefecture.

Q6: The greatest happening you experienced when you were in a foreign country?
I lost one of my beach sandals in the sea, so I returned to the hotel barefoot and my feet were all cut. It was pretty painful.

Q7: The most important memory you have about a trip to a foreign country for work?
At the Thai music festival, I realized “It’s a live-feast!”. Well, it’s pretty that way. (laughs) [I’m not sure here :/]

Q8: The best trip to a foreign country you did privately?
The first private trip was to France. When I made the fight reservation by myself, my heart was pounding.

Q9: The souvenir that made you happy?
I’m sorry, but I’m the type of person that doesn’t give away souvenirs, so I don’t know. Like, “In Japan they sell everything, so it makes no sense~”.

Q10: What do you absolutely carry with you during a trip?
The book I’m reading and a medicine for insects bites. It’s efficacious not only with insects, but even with medusa bites. It’s very useful!

Q11: A memory or a challenge in Asia you want to make from now on?
Speaking about challenges, at present time, I want to increase the live experiences outside Japan. I want to experience unknown emotions in new places.

Q12: “When I’m travelling, I suck at this”: what is it?
Insects, insects, insects, insects! While I was napping outside, I was bitten by an enormous insect, and I woke up because of the pain…

Q13: What’s the fact that occurred when you went outside of Japan with the members that you remember most?
In Hawaii. For the high tension the members and I jumped all together into the sea (laughs). In hot places you can become stupid, right.

Q14: The world news that you’re interested in right now?
The outflow of crude oil into the open sea of Mexico Gulf. If they let such a huge outflow leak, then the sea, the living beings… President, do something, please!

Q15: Tell us the plan of the journey you suggest to do!
Travel alone. If you choose by yourself following your own feelings, it will turn out to be a good experience. But it costs more than a package tour.

[I know I’m biased and all, but more Kame speaks about the Italian foods he cooks, more I’m curious to try it XD I wonder how much he messes up the original recipe…! What does it mean “-like”? XD]

JUNNO

Q1: What is your favourite country in the world?
Japan. I know the language and the food is delicious! At 2nd place probably Hawaii… There they understand Japanese too! (laughs)

Q2: The best 3 countries you want to see?
1st place: Australia. 2nd place: Canada. It seems that in both of them I can come in contact with nature. 3rd place: Korea. It’s very interesting.

Q3: What’s your favourite dish in the world?
My favourite is Japanese food. After that, probably Chinese one. Among Chinese cooking, I particularly like yamcha of Hong Kong, or something similar to Taiwanese home-made dishes.

Q4: What is the foreign dish you are able to cook?
Curry. Even though I say so, the last time I’ve cooked it is years ago. Using chicken curry the spicy taste is adequate. It tasted really normal! (laughs)

Q5: The first foreign country you went to?
Hawaii. When I was a 2nd-year student of middle school, the (Johnny’s) company sent us there for around 3 months for work. Indeed, it was the first time I travelled by plane too.

Q6: The greatest happening you experienced when you were in a foreign country?
When we went to New York, we had some free time and I had a stroll alone. They thought I got lost coming back and they looked for me.

Q7: The most important memory you have about a trip to a foreign country for work?
In Thailand, they let me try a paraglider over the sea. The landscape was so beautiful I was impressed.

Q8: The best trip to a foreign country you did privately?
I surfed when I was in Hawaii. The waves are different from the ones there are in Japan, and there are easy big waves, so even a beginner can enjoy himself.

Q9: The souvenir that made you happiest?
Without restricting to souvenirs, I usually don’t buy when I go to foreign countries. But the next time I’ll buy something, at least typical foods.

Q10: What do you absolutely carry with you during a trip?
Shampoo and rinse. Because if I use the ones located at the place my hair become all dried out. Then, mobile phone.

Q11: A memory or a challenge in Asia you want to make from now on?
Of course even these concerts are a challenge. If I can, I would try to act privately in a foreign drama or movie.

Q12: “When I’m travelling, I suck at this”: what is it?
Because I dislike coriander, I’m unable to deal with food from Thailand. Moreover, I don’t like spicy food. Well, If I have to, I will eat it. (laughs)

Q13: What’s the fact that occurred when you went outside of Japan with the members that you remember most?
Often there are scenes when we realize “Where’s Koki?” (laughs) Koki is this kind of person, “Where did he go right now this time~!?”

Q14: The world news that right now you’re interested in?
There are a lot, but probably right now is the World Cup. But in reality, I’m more interested in Japan domestic news.

Q15: Tell us the plan of the journey you suggest to do!
Hawaii. Are necessary 5 days/nights, to go to shopping centres and to play at the sea. The Diamond Head is a must too.

UEDA

Q1: What is your favourite country in the world?
Japan! At any rate, it’s hygienic, secure, the food is delicious at the top level, there’s nothing to say.

Q2: The best 3 countries you want to see?
1st place: mountain climbing in Swiss. 2nd place: see Mont Saint-Michel in France. 3rd: I want to eat delicious food in Italy.

Q3: What’s your favourite dish in the world?
Japanese food. Probably my favourite among it is deep fried skewers. I prepare them even by myself. Regarding ingredients, chicken is a must!

Q4: What is the foreign dish you are able to cook?
They are Japanese, but are stir-fried vegetables (laughs). As seasoning, sometimes I put ponzu [Japanese sauce made primarily of soy sauce and citrus juice, TrN]; once in a while I use soy sauce too.

Q5: The first foreign country you went to?
When I was a child I often went outside Japan with my family, but I don’t remember the first time. For work, I guess I went to Thailand, probably.

Q6: The greatest happening you experienced when you were in a foreign country?
I forget my wallet at the hotel in Thailand and they sent it to me via mail in Japan, but beside the documents, there was nothing else. My 100.000 yen! (cries)

Q7: The most important memory you have about a trip to a foreign country for work?
Nothing exceeds that wallet case. I believe it was the period we did the “SUMMARY” together with NEWS. (cries)

Q8: The best trip to a foreign country you did privately?
You know, I’ve never done a trip to a foreign country with my friends. When I went with my family, I was too little and I have no memories at all…

Q9: The souvenir that made you happiest?
When I bought and brought as a present for my sister’s birthday a (famous) brand bag. Or better, I bought it because I was asked to. (laughs)

Q10: What do you absolutely carry with you during a trip?
Wallet and sweets. Going outside Japan I will certainly carry with me okaki or senbei. [both foods TrN] Because I suddenly feel hungry.

Q11: A memory or a challenge in Asia you want to make from now on?
I don't want to convey a weird meaning, but right now I’m interested in a Korean actress, simply. If one day I will be able to work with her, I’d be glad.

Q12: “When I’m travelling, I suck at this”: what is it?
Black vinegar. It pops out in yamcha and when eating, right. I really hate it. Starting even from the smell, it’s my weak point. (cries)

Q13: What’s the fact that occurred when you went outside of Japan with the members that you remember most?
I’m sorry, I don’t remember well the trips with members. But when I went alone to England, I really enjoyed myself!

Q14: The world news that right now you’re interested in?
The situation of Japan. Usually I don’t follow news, but the recent condition of Japan caught my attention, as I expected. [*]

Q15: Tell us the plan of the journey you suggest to do!
An amusement park tour in Florida! In Florida there are lots of amusement parks. I think that even the lowest takes 1 week.

[*Since this is an August issue, and the interview was surely made before, I suppose he’s talking about the change of the Prime Minister.]

MARU

Q1: What is your favourite country in the world?
Japan. Isn’t it obvious?! The best country is the one you live in!! Probably the 2nd one is Hawaii.

Q2: The best 3 countries you want to see?
1st place: America, or better, Hawaii. 2nd place: India. I want to see its culture. 3rd place: China. It’s the country that has force right now.

Q3: What’s your favourite dish in the world?
White rice with miso soup. I like potatoes the most among all the ingredients. As a side dish? Uhm, if there’s fish, it’s ok.

Q4: What is the foreign dish you are able to cook?
Since omuraisu is called “western food”, is it ok for “foreign dish” too? (laughs) My pride is boiled eggs!

Q5: The first foreign country you went to?
Hawaii. During Jr. time we went there for work[*], and I enjoyed myself so much that I though “It’s good I entered in the Johnny’s company”.

Q6: The greatest happening you lived when you were in a foreign country?
Not a long time ago, when I went to Korea for work, I realized at the airport that I had forgotten the passport, so I returned at home to pick it up, and I had to take another flight (cries).

Q7: The most important memory you have about a trip to a foreign country for work?
I enjoyed myself every time, wherever I went, but I guess it’s Hawaii. Because I’ve got memories about how we were extremely noisy during our Jr. days.

Q8: The best trip in a foreign country you did privately?
Macao was good too, but the best was Hawaii. I could feel the untouched nature, that is, volcanoes and the true charm of nature.

Q9: The souvenir that made you happiestr?
It may be just me, but when I buy the clothes of a brand not yet selling in Japan, and then after 2 months they land in Japan, I feel a bit of sense of superiority. (laughs)

Q10: What do you absolutely carry with you during a trip?
Sandals. They’re comfortable whereas appropriate shoes are troublesome, for example when I go from the hotel to the supermarket!

Q11: A memory or a challenge in Asia you want to make from now on?
Even the concerts outside Japan we’re doing this time are a challenge. First of all, at present time I want to enjoy with everyone the concerts in Korea and Taiwan!

Q12: “When I’m travelling, I suck at this”: what is it?
Uhm, to me food is absolutely indifferent… Even the culture, I’m “when in Rome do as the Romans do”… So, nothing particularly.

Q13: What’s the fact that occurred when you went outside of Japan with the members that you remember most?
When, in the middle of the night, we did a sudden acrobatic competition on the shore. I did the filming, since I can’t do acrobatics.

Q14: The world news that right now you’re interested in?
Of course the World Cup! It’s a feast for the whole world. I think it’s a chance for South Africa to develop their economy too.

Q15: Tell us the plan of the journey you suggest to do!
Personally my first suggestion is Hawaii Island, but if you want to enjoy shopping too, Oahu Island may be good also.

[* The term he uses is the one for “cover an event”/”take interviews”/”gather material”. I don’t remember exactly what they did there, but I remember a photo shoot, so I guess they went there for a magazine photo shoot? In the translation I left a vague “work”.]

KOKI

Q1: What is your favourite country in the world?
That’s Japan. Because I’m Japanese. Food is good, and probably it’s the country where everything is the best?

Q2: The best 3 countries you want to see?
Mexico. It seems it’s funny, its image is one where the atmosphere of the country is cheerful. Then, I want to see Pyramids too. Nothing else.

Q3: What’s your favourite dish in the world?
This question is difficult, isn’t it? (laughs) If there’s meat, I’m fine with food from every country. Hamburger or steak, everything’s OK.

Q4: What is the foreign dish you are able to cook?
Spring roll. Ingredients change according tohow I'm feeling at that moment. There are shrimp moments, eggs and shiitake moments. Chili sauce is indispensable.

Q5: The first foreign country you went to?
I think it was Thailand. But since I went there for work, I didn’t enjoy myself. Yes, more than anything else, I’m not suited for planes…

Q6: The greatest happening you experienced when you were in a foreign country?
When I went to New York for work, the plane hit an air pocket and for 2 seconds was suspended in the air. I thought “Will I die?”

Q7: The most important memory you have about a trip to a foreign country for work?
Thailand was amusing. In a place similar to a zoo, they let me do things like hug a baby tiger.

Q8: The best trip to a foreign country you did privately?
Privately, I don’t go to foreign countries… Can I talk about a trip to Okinawa? Both the aquarium and the meal were the best!

Q9: The souvenir that made you happiest?
Basically I buy only for me and my family. I like to buy things I can buy only in that country. For example, T-Shirts. [In JP nobody sells T-shirts, Koki? X°D]

Q10: What do you absolutely carry with you during a trip?
Canned yakitori and tuna. Then, I often carry with me comparatively something like salted fish. Isn’t Japanese food eaten outside of Japan tasty?

Q11: A memory or a challenge in Asia you want to make from now on?
I want to go to Macao! Faithfully, there are lots of world inheritances like Macao. It seems that even food is good.

Q12: “When I’m travelling, I suck at this”: what is it?
I don’t like the sensation of being forced to that country’s language or climate. Because I hate to be forced by others. (laughs)

Q13: What’s the fact that occurred when you went outside of Japan with the members that you remember most?
Thailand. In the zoo I cited before, we had the experience to have a scorpion stuck to our body. It was really amusing.

Q14: The world news that right now you’re interested in?
Now…? Something like the fact that Obama-san is the first black President? Or that the Berlin wall was knocked down? (laughs)

Q15: Tell us the plan of the journey you suggest to do!
A day trip to Korea! Saying “Let’s go to eat yakiniku!” to friends, then ending up going there, isn’t great?

[Obama-san… I love Japanese sometimes ♥ XD And… Berlin Wall was destroyed 21 years ago, Koki! XD]

--------------
I could swear I have messed up English preposition a lot of times in this translation :/ I apologize, I suck in using the correct preposition before places X°°D And WTH, why are they always talking about food?!
As always, feel free to point out mistakes both in English and Japanese. I’m only a student, but being a fan too, I’d like to give you the best I can do. :)

-------------
Personal note:
First of all, a huge, enormous THANKS to all the great girls that tweeted almost all day/night long #changeurworld. Even if Twitter was mean with us and didn’t gave us the worldwide TT, it’s the first time I have tweeted so much, we reached a wonderful result… and I had lots of fun. *hugs* Let’s try to repeat it on 17th?
Second: I’m every second more addicted to this new single. I planned to wait for my copy to arrive, but since it takes usually 1 month to arrive, I surrender even before trying XD “Never x Over” is extremely funny, I’m so proud of them for having “dedicated” to us this song/reserved a part for us hyphens in a song written to present the boys. I feel loved ♥ “Give me, Give me, Give me” is gorgeous too, their voices here are WONDERFUL~

This to say: if you didn’t have already bought your copy, order at least the RE with these songs inside! You will help the boys (it’s their first single as a 5-members-group), and you will be the lucky possessor of one of their BEST singles ever since (I think that I liked ALL the songs only in “Rescue” single. It’s a HUGE matter to me, love all the 3 songs! ♥).
They are giving their best to us; let’s show them how much we appreciate it! ^^ Yesasia - CDJapan

wait! Berlin wall was destroyed already?! what wall did I visit last year?!

[identity profile] iside89.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it was only his way to say he's not up-to-date, since both Obama's election and Berlin Wall destruction are old news (the first one 2009, the second one... 1989 XD).
I would like to try his pasta too... And now, he says he can cook even italian-style risotto! I wonder how italian is his cooking! I'm sooo curious! XD

[identity profile] yararanger.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Regarding ingredients, chicken is a must!

*_____________* Uedaaaaaa~~~~~~~ *_________* He definitely needs to come back to Europe! *-* ♥

Q9: The souvenir that made you happier?
It may be me, but when I bought clothes of a brand not yet selling in Japan, and then after 2 months they landed to Japan, I felt a bit of sense of superiority. (laughs)

LOL Nakamaru XDDD what the heck XD But ah, I want to eat the omurice that he cooks ;o; I love omurice *-*

I like that they all say Japan is the country that they love the most ♥ I think it's important to be happy in the country that you live in :D ♥

Thank you so so so much for this! \(^-^)/ Reading your translations always makes me happy and I love being able to read the words of all the members ♥

By the way, last week I linked to some of your translations on Ueda's community (captain_u - since I'm a mod there now and was doing a round-up of things that had been posted recently concerning Tachan) ... but I never thought to ask for your permission if it was okay to do that! ;A; I'm really sorry I didn't ask you first ;_; Is it alright if I link to your recent translations in this week's catch-up post?

#changeurworld was fun ne! I didn't have the time to tweet a lot since I was trying to do too many things at once irl DX but everyone did really well and had fun X3 I love the single so so much ;o; ♥ ...I am biased and think everyone should order the LE with Ueda and NTT solos XD;; but the RE would be good too since I loooooove NEVER x OVER! It's so cute ♥

My comment is long and rambling again =_= sorry x_X *hugs*

[identity profile] iside89.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Reading your translations always makes me happy and I love being able to read the words of all the members ♥
This is what I meant saying I love to read your comments ♥ *hugs* I need to thank you instead! *hugs* And reading looong comments as happened in the last translation is funny too *_*

Don't worry about the translations! Of course you can ^_^ So you can link/copy with credit this one too.

I am biased and think everyone should order the LE with Ueda and NTT solos XD;;
Ahah not to much biased! I love "Girls" too! And "neetoman"! ^^ I was trying to convince even people who don't want/can't spend so much, and RE is the cheapest. XD

I loooooove NEVER x OVER! It's so cute ♥
I WANT go to their concert to listen & sing this song!! And I'm terribly addicted to "Give me"! They're way too cool. Give me a ticket for their next concert plz! >_

[identity profile] yararanger.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Eee thank you thank you! When I realised you only x-posted to 5nin I suddenly thought "ack! What if she didn't want it linking...?" so now I'm reassured again X3 THE LAST TRANSLATION WAS HILARIOUS it would have been a shame to NOT leave a long comment, there was too much awesome lolololol XD I still laugh at the thought of Junno inside the cake... *dead* XD

NEETman makes me so happy I wanted to cry ;o; I have loved that song since August and to have a MousePeace - any MousePeace song on a CD just makes me go "uaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa~~~~!!!!!!!!!!" with happiness ;o; especially since it's such a cute song and it's the one where he wore the Rilakkuma costume onstage too XD;; And GIRLS, ohhhh my goodness LOL it's so catchy and upbeat and fun, I'm really so proud of Junno for masterminding that one... and NEVER x OVER, Junno's part too it's so perfect that they immortalised "iriguchi deguchi Taguchi"! His personal pun forever enshrined in his shoukai LOL ♥

Ahhhhhhhh I guess KAT-TUN are just awesome. XD;

[identity profile] chuckles0505.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I like how Junno and Maru said their 2nd favorite country is Hawaii even though Hawaii isn't a country. Hawaii is really different from the rest of the United States though so I guess it's okay. Maru please come to America, preferably not just Hawaii, and bring the rest of KAT-TUN with you.

Lol, again Koki just has to mention meat,

Thanks a lot for translating :)

The boys have so much national pride lol.

'Where's Koki?'
I'm imagining Junno waking the members in the middle of the night yelling "we lost Koki! D:" and others going "not again~ -.-" Then hours after searching for him, Koki casually arrives with some meat in hand, saying 'yo, guyz, what's up?' ...And then KT tackle him. XDD

Thank you for the translation~ <3

THANK YOU!!
aww they all love Japan. haha
Juuno, come to Canadaaaa!!! haha He likes yumcha? I guess he likes dim sum?
LOL @ Koki's experimental spring rolls and carrying canned foods to foreign countries with him?

Juuno: Of course even these concerts are a challenge. If I can, I would try to privately act in a foreign drama or movie.
That would be cool.

Juuno: Often there are scenes when we realize “Where’s Koki?” (laughs) Koki is this kind of person, “Where did he go in this timing~!?”
Koki often goes off wandering by himself? XD

Q4: What is the foreign dish you are able to cook?
Ueda: They are Japanese, but are stir-fried vegetables

ROFLLLL

Maru: When, in the middle of the night, we did a sudden acrobatic competition on the shore. I did the filming, since I can’t do acrobatics.
LOL in the middle of the night?

Koki: I want to go to Macao! Faithfully, there are lots of world inheritances like Macao. It seems that even food is good.
Let's go Koki! I'll bring you! :D Macau food is really good with the blend of two cultures.

Thank you so much for sharing your translations.
I really love their answers to the different questions. <3

It's was fun tweeting yesterday.

[identity profile] leia22.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the translation! I love to read all the members answers. So thanks for doing all the members! Sometimes I'm disappointed because some people only do Kame, (i'm not complaining lol) as Kame is my darling ichiban! After I read Kame, I want to know about the others too!

It is really cute how Japan is their favourite country lol but not surprising. I was thinking come on guys say somewhere else, but when I thought about it, even though my country has a lot of problems, it's still my favourite! LOL

Hey, if you like I can correct your english for the whole article but your english is really good! I'm really happy you translated the Japanese for us so if I can help in any way I would, just tell me If you want me to :-)))

[identity profile] mindpower23.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks for translation. Love it as I could understand what they are thinking though all these interviews. They are not merely idol. They keep up with happenings too.

From interview you realise Japanese are quite patriotic over their county ne.

Twitter project.... let's do it again. It's fun. I am a newbie at TT and learning the rope. Knowing a few fans there really excite me. But TT is mean. Hang our account.

Thank you dear~ ♥

[identity profile] affor.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 11:58 am (UTC)(link)
I wonder what they all have with the food! Surely there's not a single developed country in the world where you can't just normally go to the supermarket and buy your own ingredients?

And what could possibly go wrong with risotto? XD *is totally ignorant of cooking*

Thanks for translating! What a long interview ^.^

Thank you very much for the translation. of course Japan is their fav country, but why do they all cite the food a s a reason for that? my my, their obsession with food...>.>

Thank you so much for this. I giggled the whole way through at their answers esp at Junno's inability to go anywhere without his hair products. pfft lol! They're all sort of looking forward to Hawaii, aren't they?

I really hope they come next year; matemasu~
