And today I had my last exam!! *__* Now I'm FREE!! YEAH XD So I spent part of this free time: a) playing DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) with my friends :P b) I wrote the review of Kami no Shizuku, as I promised yesterday. It's a bit long and probably not a real review/critic, but only random thoughts. If you want to hear my opinion... And I put images :P

Kami no Shizuku

Fansub watched: JONE-Records. The translation was good and full of interesting notes. I only noticed a completely wrong sentence in the episode where there's someone speaking italian; it would have been easily checked by an Italian speaker. :/

Plot: here.
I think it's interesting how Shizuku started to know about his father through this challenge and through wines. How he discovers that his talent is half "god gift" and half "his father's teaching". At the end if this drama would be a novel, I'd call it a bildungsroman - the protagonist grows up.
Around ep.6 there's a change in the plot that break the classic pattern "read the letter-find the wine-explain why you chose it". Surprise~ XD

Characters:
Most of the characters change their behaviour (Shizuku, Maki, Issei), and I find it very interesting - I love dramas that do so ^-^ Even some secondary characters have their episode! Shinohara-san was cute - even though I didn't like the acting XD - and she made me laugh more than one time XD
Shizuku/Kame was cuteness overflowing XD Some of his expressions made me laugh hard! And I said "Mezame yo, Bacchus" for some days when drinking alcoholic drinks! XD He's a cute character but I think he's more sly than it seems (I remember the scene with Shinohara when he says "daisuki" referring in theory to the wine... but when he turns his back he's laughing... you evil Shizuku! XD *Iside loves this kind of men XD*
Weak point, at the end we don't fully understand who really are Robert and that lawyer, what they think etc - but I guess it's because the manga is not finished yet so the characters are not fully portrayed.

Actors: I don't like the girl actress, Shinohara-san/Naka Riika/Zebra Queen. I think she's too much theatrical and absurd in that contest, I didn't like her acting. The Sarah girl too: she can't act °_° On the contrary, I liked Maki-san: she's really beautiful and elegant and she was perfect for her role (and I want her dresses/shoes/pretty-ness too *envy XD*).
Issei... I guess I' seen him before but I don't remember well where. I think he did a good job, even if I'd have appreciate he didn't do that "ooooh" thing after drinking a glass of wine - it was... ambiguous XD
I liked very much Kame. Yes I know I'm biased XD But it was a different role for him: it wasn't an hysterical/emo/poor boy like Hiroto in Tatta Hitotsu or Shuji in Nobuta [I liked them both but... he always do that kind of roles! XD]. Shizuku is a kind and serene boy, unaware of his love and talent for wines, maybe a bit shy. It was cute to see how Kame portrayed him. It was a more mature role than his usual ones so I was pleased to see his efforts. And OMG Kame speaking French was sooooo *drool*

Music: oh well the ending theme is "One drop", so since I'm a KT fan of course I like it XD I like even the title background song. I don't remember a particular OST so I guess that beside these 2 songs it's pretty ordinary.

Why you may want to see it:

-The manga is one of the most sold ones. Probably there's a reason.
-Shizuku's growing is delicate and interesting, well portrayed.
-You can learn lots of things about wines, even if you're not interested. I live in Europe, I'm used to see those names, but I didn't know all those things.
-You can always smile/laugh hearing sommeliers saying "I see that scenary, I can taste raspberries and sun and soil..." (and you go O_o) XD
-Happy and love-love ending! You can't see it often in non-shojo drama! *_*
-*boys only* Women are very cute - even though most of them can't act XD
-*fangirls only* KAT-TUN music&boy! XD

Why you may don't want to see it:
-Probably it's boring for most of people, if you don't drink alcohol.
-It's a bit repetitive (after all, they're 7 wines so they repeat the same pattern 7 times).
-You may find strange the happy ending without further explanations - prepare some insuline.

I give to it 7/10: I was prepared to hate it but at the end he's captivating and I liked to know about wines. And I want to learn to do decantage.
IMHO, it's worth watching.
