KAT-TUN will release their new “KUSABI” on 27/11, after 1 year and 9 months. This album, which makes you feel the bond of the new KAT-TUN, will probably become what will bound the relation with the fans stronger than before.
An album where you can totally feel the present KAT-TUN
------When you listened to your new album “Kusabi” after its completion, what have you felt?
N: All we've created until now is good, but this one is even better. Saying that at the present moment this is our best album isn't an exaggeration. It's an album were for example the songs' trend is very close to the ideal.
U: It's really as you say. While keeping our feet on what KAT-TUN has been until now as basis, exactly because we reached this age we could newly challenge songs with a strong character. Those songs are surely convincing because the members became adults. I think this must be the reason behind the fact songs which can transmit the present KAT-TUN perfectly are collected here.
T: Yes, Yes, this time it's a pungent album. ….ah, that's not kusabi, it's wasabi! (laughs) [T/N: the pungent green sauce you eat for ex. with sushi]
K: …... you said that on another magazine too, didn't you? (laughs)
U: Really!? Why do you say it twice? (laughs)
N: Are you going to make this one popular, this time around? (laughs) So, how is this album?
T: Well...
N: You can't come up with anything else? Was wasabi your peak?! (laughs)
K: Then, I will answer instead! (laughs) Actually it's not that the creative process started with the same tension of creating an album. First, it started from making Nakamaru's drama theme song and Suzuki's CM song into a single, then it was decided we could release a CD on that same period. Moreover, it was decided that we could hold lives at the end of the year, so we said “In this case we would like to have many more songs”. Then, from there we started the choice of musical pieces. Maybe it's because there was this sequence of events that [the project] naturally broadened, and in this process it took a good balance and settled down. We too think that we could create an album that becomes the pillar for a live, and I feel that this is an album in which even fans who can't come to Kyocera Dome can feel the present KAT-TUN's presence.
------There's no song similar to the other, it's an album that extremely deserves to be listened.
K: Thank you. Of course there is what can be called “KAT-TUN-ness”, but I think that maybe there's also something more, the gentleness inside of it. Is it due to us growing up? I don't know it either. But surely it's an album which symbolizes the present KAT-TUN.
-------I understand well that the members themselves feel accomplishment for this album. The title track “Kusabi” is perfect for Nakamaru-kun's drama.
N: Yes. It's a drama about unraveling a mystery, so that mysteriousness is in the song too. So personally, I really like the odd melody line of the two stanzas.
K: Moreover, you'd think that the chorus pierces through the odd feeling of the stanzas, but it lets it there instead (laughs). The fact the song, in a good meaning, isn't simple, is what's KAT-TUN-like.
U: We also filmed the music video in the middle of nature, so it fits the world of Nakamaru-kun's drama. Moreover, the scenery is so beautiful it looks like CG. Nonetheless it has an intensity that you can't achieve on a set, so I think it turned out being a great footage.
T: As expected, it's a song with a lot of sabi in it (laughs) [T/N: punning wasabi with sabi (chorus/hook)]
K: Don't push that one (laughs). Do you like [that joke] that much?
T: Better say that I have already overcome my peak so I can't come up with anything else (laughs)

------(laughs) By the way, the meaning for “linchpin” is something that firmly connects two things, when do you feel the connection between the members?
U: Isn't it the lives? Standing in front of the audience as a group, it's a place where we sing, dance, talk, and get hyper together. Also, for the lives we don't need special meetings either, we naturally pick up the right balance. When I feel that, I think we are interconnected.
N: We are exactly having meetings for the end of the year's live now. During those moments too, even if we're speaking our mind, we spontaneously decide where the point of compromise is. I think it is because we understand each other.
K: Creating something with someone on equal terms and for such a long time, for me it's something I've done only with the members. This is why I think it's a place I must keep dear, and I can't even think of not having it right now. I'm thinking once again that, as expected, my base is here.
T: During lives I feel not only the connection with the members but also the connection between us and the audience. I feel that it's not one-sided, but that both sides' feelings are communicating.
------I think that also the fans are looking forward to the end of the year's live a lot.
T: It's our first independent countdown concert, plus we haven't had concerts for more than one year, so we too are happy we managed to have a live before the year ends.

I love the way they talk about the songs, especially the gentleness Kame mentioned. Because it's exactly what I feel after listening to their songs recently♥ And I love the way Kame said how much he treasures KAT-TUN, like always. The strength and the gentleness, everytime I listen to their songs, and read the crosstalk between them, it always makes me love them more and more. I've already ordered 3 versions (waiting to the released day so that I can watch the DVD >_< )
